Dr. Lake Billings

Dr. Lake Billings was born and raised in Salisbury, North Carolina, where his early exposure to dentistry through his father and his desire to help others with his hands sparked a lifelong passion for the dental profession. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University before pursuing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Following his graduation, Dr. Billings completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, where he gained advanced training in dental surgery, dental implants and intravenous moderate sedation.
Dr. Billings strives to build trusting relationships and make his patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. With strong attention to detail, he is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to his patients. He continually seeks opportunities to broaden his knowledge and stay at the forefront of new techniques and technology through continuing education.
Outside the office, Dr. Billings enjoys spending time outdoors, watching sports, and traveling with his fiancée, Elisabeth, whom he met during dental school.

I knew I wanted to do something medical-related, so I took Allied Health in high school where we also learned some dental, and that interested me.

The first job I ever had was teacher assisting for a local daycare. I worked with children aged 0–6.
Why did you decide on the dental field?
The dental field has always been so interesting to me. I especially love ortho and hygiene.

I enjoy many things in life, but if I have to narrow it down, I’d say my favorites are: Jesus, coffee, decorating, music, and antique shopping.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I love anime & find it hard to watch regular shows now.

Why did you decide on the dental field?
Long story short:
Back in high school, I had a severe toothache and I was so grateful when my dentist relieved me of pain. I knew right then this is the field I wanted to be in!

You can catch me outside going for walks & playing fetch with my 2 dogs, Jax + Asher. Or swimming & playing with monster trucks with my 3 y/o nephew, Dawson.

I am a sucker for a good scary movie!

Loved (or fascinated with braces) – in the 8th grade – wrote a research paper on dental assisting in 9th grade. Chose to go into hygiene wanting to have more one-on-one with patients.

Honestly I had no idea what I wanted to do, I explored my options but I just could not find anything that not only excited me but genuinely made me happy. Until I found dentistry + the anatomy + patient care bring so much joy to me I absolutely fell in love.

Going out on the boat, riding ATVs, anything outdoors, and hanging out with my nieces & nephews.
What is something people don’t know about you?
My biggest dream is to one day become a singer/performer! I was a talent show winner back in the day.
